Samantha Richardson's contribution to the Fulbright-Hays GPA to Russia is to study the way Russian literature has affected western literature. Mrs. Richardson also works to incorporate the analysis of Russian literature into her lessons in the classroom. Using a "Mind Map" strategy, she teaches her students how to analyze Anton Chekhov's The Grasshopper. Mrs. Richardson has provided a copy of The Grasshopper as well as a guided "mind map" for analysis.

Dr. Anna Lilios

Dr. Anna Lillios is an English Professor at the University of Central Florida. She teaches a variety of Literature courses, one of which is World Literature- Russian Literature in Translation (LIT 3931). In addition to her teaching, Dr. Lilios is an accomplished author. Her latest book, "Crossing the Creek: The Literary Friendship of Zora Neale Hurston and Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings," and her essay compilation, Lawrence Durrell and the Greek World are two of her most notable works.

Dr. Lilios' specialization for the Fulbright-Hays GPA to Russia involves the development of a Russian literature course at UCF. This course would primarily focus on Russian literature in translation, beginning with Leo Tolstoy's "War and Peace" and emphasizing war, memory, and transformation in the 18th and 19th century. A link to additional information about Dr. Lilios, as well as her many publications has been included below. Dr. Lilios also provided the course syllabus for her class.
