Undergraduate Level Courses

RUS 1120 Elementary Russian Language and Civilization I- Introduces the student to Russian culture through the major language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Open only to students with no experience in this language.

RUS 1121 Elementary Russian Language and Civilization II- Continuation of RUS 1120

RUS 2200 Intermediate Russian Language and Civilization I- Development of language skills and cultural knowledge at the intermediate level.

RUS 2201 Intermediate Russian Language and Civilization II- Continuation of RUS 2200.

RUS 3240 Russian Conversation- Development of skills in conversation and comprehension through practice.

RUS 3760 Advanced Russian Oral Communication- Vocabulary building with systematic training in diction and locution. Speeches and oral presentations as well as production and delivery of real-life dialogues.

RUS 3905 Independent Study

RUS 3955 Study Abroad (Field Studies)- As an enhancement to its Russian language curriculum, UCF offers a study abroad program for undergraduate students interested in Russian language and culture. This program provides an excellent opportunity for full linguistic and cultural immersion to enhance language skills.

RUT 3505 Russian Culture and Civilization- Russian culture and civilization through a variety of topics and media.

TSL 4240 Issues in Second Language Acquisition- English phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics, for future teachers.

TSL 4363 ESL Classroom Experiences- Practical instruction and experiences for future teachers of English conversation. Includes micro-teaching in class as well as 25 hours of experience working with non-native speakers.

TSL 5940 Issues in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)- Address issues specifically related to TEFL, such as materials adaptation, teaching in multi-level classrooms, learning styles, cultural issues, and curriculum syllabus design.

TSL 6250 Applied Linguistics in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)- Applying linguistics, psycholinguistics, and sociolinguistics to teaching English as a second language with emphasis on pronunciation, intonation, structural analysis, morphophonemics, and decoding from print to sound.
